Costumes

Hire and loan

Soham Heritage and Tourism have been very fortunate to be able to make and reproduce our own range of historically accurate costumes, for loan or hire.  We also have many original pieces which have been kindly donated to us, that cover the last 170 years of fashion. As an added bonus we also hold various accessories such as: necklaces, brooches, fob watches and rings.

Over the years we have ‘loaned’ several garments to:
Fordham Church – Wedding Dress festival
Biggleswade Amateur Dramatic Society (BATS)
The U3A group at Newmarket College
Exhibition at local National Trust properties by individuals
Soham Methodist Church Wedding dresses weekend exhibition
Soham Ghost Walks each year
South Angle Farm – Tudor Weekend Event
Soham Pumpkin Fair – Hat and Helmet stall each year
18 World War one costumes for the recent commemoration event
Tudor, Victorian, Anglo Saxon and Medieval children’s costumes for yearly specialist school term projects
…and many for our own walks, talks, exhibitions and displays.

If you wish to know more about our hire and loan of costumes, please contact: [email protected] heading your email costumes.

N.B: Replica costumes range from c1300s style to Edwardian, originals from 1840s to present (all originals are for display use only, not wearing).
